Turning south on leaving the marina, this dive is situated next to the beach of Playa de La Arena. The rocky point is characterized by an intricate jumble of volcanic peaks and troughs, which can provide a challenging navigation exercise. The boat anchors on a ledge in 6 - 10 metres, and following a slope down to a depth of 18 - 22 metres a large shoal of Roncadores (Bastard Grunts) are to be found. Moving inshore brings us to a horseshoe shaped cleft in the rock, the walls of which are adorned with many colourful Anemones, Scorpion Fish and, for the sharp eye, Nudibranchs. Returning to the boat through the maze of volcanic formations, our safety stop is completed in 5 metres accompanied by smaller shoaling fish, and sometimes Morays and Octopus.
